PaGone! Angel Lifts Mets Over Cards With Walk-Off Homer

Well, it took ten innings, but the Mets won on a walk-off home run to beat the Cardinals by a score of 6-5.


  • R.A. Dickey went 6.1 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits, while striking out four and walking one. He ended up with a no-decision. He helped himself out at the plate also, going 2-2 with an RBI.
  • Angel Pagan hit a solo walk-off home run to end it in the tenth.
  • Jason Bay left in the fourth inning with a tight hamstring
  • Carlos Beltran had a nice night at the plate, hitting his 15th home run of the season in the fifth inning to tie the game.
  • Josh Thole went 2-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
  • Pedro Beato was able to get a big out in the seventh inning, getting Albert Pujols to pop out and end the inning.
  • Jason Isringhausen was impressive in his two innings of relief, retiring the Cardinals' top batters.

Next up: The Mets finish their series tomorrow against the Cardinals. Jon Niese will take the mound for New York. Game time is 12:10 p.m.
