Gary Carter's Health Worsens

As first reported in the NY Daily News, Gary Carter's health has gotten worse.

In a recent blog post, Carter's daughter Kimmie Bloemers wrote, "Dr. V told my mom that there are now several new spots/tumors on my dad's brain."

The new spots/tumors were discovered after a recent MRI.

Carter was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer last May.

Adam Rubin Snaps, Goes On Rant About Mets Medical Mishaps

Adam Rubin, it appears, has lost his mind.

Last night, the ESPN New York reporter snapped, letting out all of his frustration with the Mets in a twitter rant.

What set Rubin off was a quote from Sandy Alderson in a Newsday article about the health of Ike Davis.


This commentary alone is not all that controversial. Rubin, however, was just getting started.

Small Victories For The Mets Today...

A little news from Metsland today.

• The team settled arbitration with Mike Pelfrey, Ramon Ramirez, Andres Torres, and Manny Acosta. According to Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York, the Mets payroll for 2012 is expected to be around $91 million.

Meanwhile, the Mets had a small victory in court today.

• The judge ruling in the Mets/Madoff mess decided the team can only lose $386 million at trial. That could change, however, as Irving Picard still has an opportunity to appeal the ruling. The trial is scheduled to begin March 19.
