Mets Morning News: Wright's Big Return, Pelfrey's Woes, & Santana'sComeback

In case you've been living under a rock, David Wright returned to the Mets lineup last night. He went 2-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBIs, which included the go-ahead run.

Pitching coach Dan Warthen says the reason for Mike Pelfrey's less than stellar performance last night, was that he is trying too hard.
"A guy that overthrew -- he tried to do too much," Warthen said after the Mets' 7-6 victory over the Marlins. "He gets here and I think sometimes he tries to do way too much."

"We talked about it beforehand: You see the front leg fly and trying to throw the ball 100 mph instead of locating it."
Johan Santana could soon begin making rehab starts. Santana pitched in front of Warthen on Friday, and the pitching coach was pleased with what he saw. He will throw again on Sunday, and if all goes well, he could make a rehab start as early as Wednesday.
