Gee Outduels Jurrjens in 5-0 Win Over Braves

The Mets shut out the Braves tonight to even up the series.

  • Dillon Gee went seven strong innings, not allowing a run and giving up just four hits. He struck out two and walked two. He is now 6-0 and is the first Mets rookie ever to win his first six starts.
  • Jair Jurrjens shut down the Mets until the seventh inning. Jason Pridie got the Mets on the board with a bases loaded single, and Jose Reyes broke the game open with a three-run triple. Reyes has now hit ten triples this season.
  • Daniel Murphy had another multi-hit game, going 2-4, and is now hitting .3o3.
  • Most importantly...THE BULLPEN DIDN'T BLOW IT. Pedro Beato and Tim Byrdak each pitched a perfect inning of relief.
Next up: The Mets finish their series with the Braves tomorrow night on ESPN. Game time is 8:05 p.m.
