Mets Take Opener From Dodgers

The Mets beat the Dodgers at Citi Field by a score of 6-3.

  • Jon Niese went 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits, while striking out five and walking three.
  • Jose Reyes went 3-4 with two triples and a double.
  • Ike Davis hit his seventh home run of the season, a solo shot.
  • Jason Pridie made the Dodgers pay. After intentionally walking Davis to put two men on base, Pridie hit a three-run home run to make it 6-3 Mets.
  • Francisco Rodriguez came in to pitch the ninth inning despite Terry Collins saying earlier in the day that he would get the night off. He recorded his eighth save.
Next up: The Mets look to make it three wins in a row as they continue their series against the Dodgers Saturday at 7:10 p.m.
