Mets Play Their Most Craptastic Game Of The Year

Tonight's game looked a little like this:

Yes. That would be a train wreck.

Officially, however, it went something like this:

  • Jon Niese lasted five innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, while striking out five and walking one.
  • The Mets' lone run came in the fifth inning on an RBI single off the bat of Jose Reyes.
  • The bullpen with the exception of Mike O'Connor, was a disaster. Taylor Buchholz allowed two runs, while Pat Misch allowed three.
  • The Mets committed three errors in the game, two of which belonged to Ronny Paulino.
  • Jason Bay left the game in the seventh inning with a stiff right calf.
Next up: The Mets play game two in this three game series, Wednesday, against the Cubs. Game time is 8:05 p.m.
