Two More Players DFA'd to Make Room for Young, Hairston
Sorry Mets fans. Neither of those players are named Ollie or Luis.
With the additions of Chris Young and Scott Hairston, the Mets needed to make some moves, or more specifically, get rid of two guys.
Rather than get rid of the two players who are wasting space, the Mets chose to designate Jason Pridie and Tobi Stoner for assignment.
This move to me is asinine.
Say Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo do make the opening day roster, they are not going to play. I would rather give Ruben Tejada a shot at second, and use just about anybody else to replace Perez.
Tejada played 78 games for the Mets last season. He has experience. Not a lot of experience, but experience non-the-less.
Granted he hit only .213 last season, but when the team's only other options at second are Castillo and Daniel "I should really only be a DH" Murphy, I'll take him.
Unfortunately, I don't see the Mets cutting these two clowns.

Collins Wants Another Lefty

This would not bode well for Pat Misch. At this point, he needs to work to make the team as possibly a long reliever.
If the Mets do end up adding another lefty reliever before Spring Training, that would mean Taylor Tankersley would have some competition for the role of lefty specialist.

Pelfrey Answers Some Not-So-Tough Questions
Mike Pelfrey answered some questions from Mets fans about the upcoming season, past performances, and basically everything else you could think of.
This offseason, the Mets have been taking to twitter to interact with the fans. Pelfrey is just one of a few players to tweet. Others have included David Wright and Ike Davis. R.A. Dickey and Jose Reyes will take to twitter later this week.

MP: I’m going to continue to work on refining my secondary pitches.

MP: Looking forward to the challenge...If I'm the 8th or 5th guy I have to put up 0s and get guys out.
Q: Who is the hitter you most hate to face?
MP: No one in particular, but lefties give me a harder time than righties.

Toot-a-Luis?
Word on the street is that Luis Castillo may get the boot before opening day to make room on the 40-man roster for Chris Young.
Castillo is owed $6 million in the last year of his four-year $24 million contract.

Heilman to Start, Not a Joke
I don't even know where to begin, but...
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Diamondbacks have agreed to a deal with former Met Aaron Heilman, and he will be given the opportunity to start.
Well...the Diamondbacks are screwed.
Heilman has been impersonating a lefty the past few years with little success.
